Solution 3: Delete the PCD and caps database files, and re-install. Uninstall the application or entire Creative Suite package. To uninstall on Windows, use the Add Or Remove Programs feature in Windows. To uninstall on Mac OS, navigate to an application folder (e.g., /Application/Adobe Photoshop CS4) and double-click the Uninstall shortcut (e.g., Uninstall Adobe Photoshop CS4) shortcut. Important: Before you uninstall the software, make sure that you have the installation media to reinstall it. Replacement media isn't available for previous versions of Adobe software.
Delete the following folders: Windows: Program Files Common Files Adobe Adobe PCD Program Files Common Files Adobe caps Program Files Common Files Adobe backup Mac OS: startup drive/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD startup drive/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps startup drive/Library/Application Support/Adobe/backup NOTE: These folders are located in the Library folder at the root of your startup drive, not in the Library folder in your user home folder! You can use the polyganal lasoo tool to select around what you want to keep. You can also use the pen tool.
If you want it done quickly, use the quick selection tool. I recommend the pen tool as i find it the best. If you want cutting to be done simply and quickly and accurately, you c an get a program called OnOne Mask Pro. This makes cutting images out almost too simply it is considered cheating. Keep in mind that you have to pay for Mask Pro though;) 3.

Select and delete additional large sections outside your keep-object, until you are left with just your keep-object. Software ask for the serial, usually at installation. When you insert the CD into the drive, it will automatically begin the installation if you have auto-run enabled. If not, you will have to run setup.exe on the disc. Follow all the on screen instructions and enter the information as it asks for y ou. Eventually you will come to a screen that will ask you for your serial number before it will do the install. This is where you enter the serial number.
After you type it in correctly, you will be able to choose Next and the program will install. Sometimes though, some programs won't even ask you for the serial number until you run the program for the first time after installation. So, if it did not ask you for a serial number during the install, open the program after it finishes the install. A box will automatically pop up asking you for a serial number before you can continue to use the software. Don't worry, it won't ask you to key in the serial number every single time you run the program - just the first time.
Of course, if you uninstall and then reinstall the software, you will have to enter it again on that initial start. Not all programs use this methods, though, usually you have to enter the serial number during installation. Take a damp washcloth and wipe the screen. Sometimes you can't. I usually have the opposite problem-customers wanting me to use Photo shop to put makeup on someone. 'Oh, she didn't wear any lipstick, can you put some on her?'
Well.yeah, sure I can for $120 an hour (that's what we get for de sign work-I don't see most of it, but that's okay, I make plenty of money anyway) but it really needs to go on the subject before the camera clicks because the finished piece looks better-and you can buy a lot of lipstick for my $30 minimum. Last week I had a picture come in that needed some makeup removal, and here's what I did. The Eyes: Too much eyeliner, more shadow on one eye than the other, the wrong shade of eyeshadow for her face, and this weird line right under the brow bone on one of her eyes-like someone accidentally dragged the tip of a sponge applicator across her face. I did a selective color correction to fix the shade, used the cloning tool to get rid of the line, and used the sponge tool to soften the liner. She also had major dark circles under her eyes, and I used the sponge and the clone tools to get rid of them. The Cheeks: Bad color and heavy application strike again. The sponge lifted most of it off.
The Lips: Would you believe purple? Selective color correction turned it into a pleasant wine color. The Forehead: I couldn't believe it: she was wearing a ton of makeup, but her forehead was shiny. You can tone this down with a selective color correction on the shiny spots, and a lot of feathering to bring her face and the corrected areas together. It took me two hours to do all this work in the computer.
It would have taken thirty minutes to do all of it in a makeup chair. You can tone down a badly-thought-out face, but you really can't remove all the makeup from one-especially if it's a child. That's because Adobe thinks their new version of the Magic Wand (called Quick Select or whatever) is so good that it will perfectly and intelligently select whatever you want however you want. Then they think you can use Refine Edge and the Masks panel to refine that selection. However, they are mis sing the point that Extract was INTELLIGENT, it didn't just offer precise control over what you're selecting, but it actually SAW the edge and was able to select it precisely while letting you correct it at the same time. Refine edge is DUMB, it only lets you blur the mask more or less, everywhere, the same amount.
It's a step backward and Adobe are complete retards for dropping such a vital feature if you ask me.
